Platts and Fenwei Energy are launching daily additions to its China Coal Index (CCI) series of thermal coal spot assessments. CCI 2 (FOB Qinhuangdao) 5,000 kcal/kg NAR and CCI 7 (CFR South China) 4,700 kcal/kg NAR. CCI 2 is the domestic marker of value for coals normalized to a typical standard of 5,000 kcal/kg NAR, traded FOB Qinhuangdao in RMB/mt including VAT, for delivery to the PRC. CCI 7 is an international marker of value for coals normalized to a typical standard of 4,700 kcal/kg NAR, traded CFR South China in US$/mt from any origin (excluding PRC). CCI 8 has had a quarterly average created for Yuan/Mt (see below)
