Beta test for new Market Data (Dispatch) FTP service starts today

As previously announced, Platts is implementing a totally new file creation and FTP delivery platform for its Market Data (formerly Platts Dispatch) service. The new platform is scheduled to go into production on Monday, May 16, 2011.

The new system will be available for beta testing by subscribers from April 18 through May 6. To test the new site, log into ftpbeta.platts.com using your regular userid and password.

There are a few differences between the new platform and the current Platts FTP site, but few users should be affected.

For a summary of the differences, extracted from the updated User Guide (which will be posted to the Platts website shortly), click on the following link, or copy and paste it into your web browser: http://www.platts.com/IM.Platts.Content/MethodologyReferences/NewDiscontinue dCodes/Codes/MarketDataChgs16May11.pdf or http://bit.ly/MarketData16May. We strongly recommend that all subscribers try out the new Platts FTP site during the beta test period. This is particularly important if you must use the ip address rather than the url (ftp.platts.com) to access the current site, since the ip address for the beta site will become the production ip address on May 16. Most ip address users have already been contacted.

If you encounter any issues in using the beta site, or have any questions regarding the new platform, please email FTP_Beta@platts.com.
