Platts will change its methodology for the lead North American Market price assessment. The current assessment is the weekly range of the low and high London Metal Exchange (LME) cash settlement price, converted into cents per pound, plus the premium. Platts is adding a daily formula assessment reflecting the current day?s LME cash settlement in cents per pound plus the weekly premium. Platts is also adding a weekly average of the daily assessment of the North American Market assessment.
The daily assessment will be introduced on May 1, 2013, and on that day the weekly code (MMALF00) will be discontinued.
Platts will also introduce a weekly average of the daily assessment on May 3, 2013.
