S&P Global Platts has clarified the labels for the prices of European Guarantees of Origin (GO) and UK Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) to display specific years, effective March 18, 2021.
Previously these assessments were displayed in relative terms as "current year" and "year-ahead" for GOs or as "compliance period", or "CP" for REGOs.
The labels for European GOs will roll to the next year on the first of each year. The labels for UK REGOs will roll at the start of the compliance period, i.e. on April 1 of each year.
This clarification relates only to how these prices are displayed in the European Power Daily publication and on the fixed pages PEP1106 and PEP1104 of the Platts real-time alert. The description of these prices in the Platts database and their underlying methodology remains unchanged.
