Leeds business supplier under scrutiny
Hudson Energy included in probe
London — UK energy regulator Ofgem has launched an investigation into whether United Gas and Power breached rules around billing, meter reading and communications, Ofgem said July 15.
Leeds-based United Gas and Power is a non-domestic supplier focused on supplying the business segment in the UK energy market with gas, power and meter installations services.
It was acting on behalf of Hudson Energy Supply UK Ltd for some customers during the period covered by the investigation, so Hudson Energy is also being investigated.
"The opening of this investigation does not imply that we have made any findings about non-compliance by United Gas and Power or Hudson Energy Supply UK," Ofgem said.
United Gas and Power was not immediately available to comment on the investigation.
