YTD petcoke exports of 25.2 million mt, up 0.7% on year
India largest September importer with 359,989 mt
Houston — US fuel-grade petcoke exports totaled 2.2 million mt in September, up 5% from August and down 18.9% from the year-ago month, US Census data said Nov. 4.
January-September, fuel-grade exports totaled 25.2 million mt, up 0.7% from the year-ago period.
Combined calcined and non-calcined petcoke exports totaled 2.4 million mt, up 3.7% from August and down 182% year on year. Total petcoke exports through September were up 0.6% year on year with 27.2 million mt.
Fuel-grade exports through the New Orleans Census District totaled 716,445 mt, up 112% from the previous month and down 17.5% from the year-ago month.
Houston/Galveston exports were 483,276 mt, down 10.7% month on month and down 12.9% from September 2019.
The third largest export district in September was Long Beach/Los Angeles with 437,662 mt, up 74.7% from August and up 62.2% year on year.
India was the largest importer of fuel-grade petcoke in September, taking 359,989 mt, up 1.6% from August and down 20.7% from the year-ago month.
China followed, importing 314,675 mt, up 199% month on month and up 47.1% year on year.
Japan imported third most this September, with 270,417 mt, up 25.4% from June and down 10.4% from the year-ago month.
