YTD exports up 9.5% on year
Indian imports down 20.1% on year
Houston — US fuel-grade petcoke exports totaled over 2.5 million mt in June, down 4.2% from May, US Census data showed Aug. 6.
From the year-ago month, fuel-grade petcoke exports were up 10%, although lowest in 12 months.
Through June this year, fuel-grade petcoke shipments totaled 18.2 million mt, up 9.5% from the year-ago period.
Combined calcined and non-calcined petcoke exports totaled 2.7 million mt in June, down 4.3% from May and up 8.7% from the year-ago month.
Exports through the Houston/Galveston Census District totaled 885,740 mt in June, up 125% from the year-ago month.
June fuel-grade petcoke exports through Port Arthur totaled 554,378 mt, down 11.5% year on year.
New Orleans exports totaled 546,874 mt, up 16.7% from the year-ago period.
China was the largest importer in June, taking 474,296 mt, up 53.6% year on year.
Turkey followed, importing 366,154 mt in June, up from none in the year-ago month, and Japan came third with imports of 267,718 mt, up 0.9% from the year-ago month.
Indian imports in June totaled 203,200 mt, down 20.1% year on year.
