Will help sustain Bu Hasa output capacity at 650,000 b/d
EPC contract includes installation of smart wells
ADNOC is boosting output capacity to 5 mil b/d by 2030
Dubai — Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., the UAE's biggest energy producer, has awarded a contract worth as much $318 million to help sustain oil output capacity at the Bu Hasa field as it forges ahead with boosting total production capacity to 5 million b/d by 2030.
ADNOC awarded the three-year contract to China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co. and Robt Stone to sustain the onshore field's 650,000 b/d production capacity, it said in a statement May 18. The engineering, procurement and construction contract will include the installation of up to 260 conventional and non-conventional smart wells, enabling remote operations, ADNOC added.
Bu Hasa, located 200 km south of Abu Dhabi city, is one of ADNOC's oldest fields and has been pumping oil since 1965.
ADNOC is ramping up production onshore and offshore as part of plans to hit 5 million b/d oil production capacity by 2030 from more than 4 million b/d now. The national oil producer will spend $122 billion between 2021 and 2025 on projects, including the capacity ramp-up.
