New York — Refinery: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Capacity: 502,500 b/d
Owner: ExxonMobil
Duration: Ongoing
Notes: ExxonMobil cut run rates over the weekend by 70,000 b/d at its 502,500 b/d Baton Rouge, Louisiana, refinery, as the company moves to minimum staffing to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease, COVID-19, sources familiar with refinery operations said Monday.
ExxonMobil on Friday said it "is taking steps with our contractors and vendors to move toward minimum staffing at our Refinery to limit the potential exposure to COVID-19. We are notifying contractors and vendors of these actions and are taking appropriate steps to adjust staffing accordingly."
Company spokesman Jeremy Eikenberry said Monday in an email that operations at the plant were ongoing, but did not provide rates. He said ExxonMobil continues to meet contractual obligations.
