Pinnacle Polymers has declared force majeure on all products from its Garyville, Louisiana, facility due to the impacts of Hurricane Ida, the company said in an Aug. 30 letter to customers and seen by S&P Global Platts.
The company is "currently unable to predict when we will return to normal production due to the uncertainties of this event," it said in the letter, see by S&P Global Platts.
The polypropylene unit has a capacity of 429,000 mt/year, according to S&P Global Platts Analytics.
Pinnacle Polymers did not immediately respond for comment.
Ida came ashore on the Louisiana coast on Aug. 29.
S&P Global Platts last assessed spot homopolymer polypropylene at $2,976-2,998 FAS Houston on Aug. 27.
