Platts to increase publication frequency of Brazil natural gas price assessments from weekly to daily
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will begin publishing its Brazil natural gas price assessments daily from Nov. 9, 2026, replacing the current weekly Thursday publication. The assessments will be published Monday through Friday on Brazilian business days.
The daily assessments will reflect anonymized bids and offers from GasHub, as well as information gathered through Platts' survey of market participants.
The existing symbols and coverage for Platts' Brazil natural gas price assessments will remain unchanged.
Coverage and symbols will remain unchanged. Platts will continue to assess the TAG, NTS and TBG pipeline systems, as well as a Brazil national average, calculated as the simple average of the three pipeline assessments. Each location carries:
• A PG (preço do gás) assessment, reflecting the price of gas delivered into the pipeline, including entry costs.
• A PM (preço da molécula) assessment, reflecting the molecule price, excluding transportation costs.
Historical weekly values will stay on the existing symbols. From Nov. 9, these symbols will carry a value for each Brazilian business day.
The following symbols will move from weekly to daily publication:
| PG assessments | R$/cu m | R$/MMBtu | US$/MMBtu |
| TAG | TAGPG10 | TAGPG01 | TAGPG02 |
| NTS | NTSPG00 | NTSPG01 | NTSPG02 |
| TBG | TBGPG00 | TBGPG01 | TBGPG02 |
| Brazil national average | BRAPG00 | BRAPG01 | BRAPG02 |
| PM assessments | R$/cu m | R$/MMBtu | US$/MMBtu |
| TAG | TAGPM10 | TAGPM01 | TAGPM02 |
| NTS | NTSPM00 | NTSPM01 | NTSPM02 |
| TBG | TBGPM00 | TBGPM01 | TBGPM02 |

The move from weekly to daily publication is intended to provide more frequent price information reflecting growing spot trading activity in Brazil's natural gas market.
The daily assessments will be available in Platts market data category GD and on pages AGP0031 and PGN0031. Brazil Energy Trader will continue to be published weekly on Thursday evening in English and Friday morning in Brazilian Portuguese, and will include a table of the daily assessments for the preceding week.
