Platts to launch US GPU Compute Prices, Nov. 23

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will launch US GPU Compute prices, effective Nov. 23, 2026.

Daily on-demand and interruptible prices will cover four NVIDIA chips: the NVIDIA H100, H200, B200 and B300 chips. Prices will be published in US dollars per GPU-hour and US dollars per million tokens of output, based on prices and availability at 1:30 pm CT.

COVERAGE

The assessments reflect the market value of available NVIDIA GPU compute capacity delivered through qualifying virtualized infrastructure services in the US by providers and marketplaces. The new assessments will capture an evolving segment of the compute market, where growing availability of dedicated GPU capacity and increasingly standardized service offerings have supported greater price transparency. The assessments will provide standardized price references for accessing GPU compute capacity in the US, adding further granularity to Platts coverage of the infrastructure supporting artificial intelligence workloads.

METHODOLOGY

Each GPU price will be a simple average of the prices of available GPUs for each chip and service type. Platts will review the prices for outliers and will automatically exclude any prices greater than 2 median absolute deviations from the median.

Platts may review the suitability of the current methodology and consider adopting a volume-weighted average approach once sufficient trade data has been collected. Platts encourages market participants to report trade data to ComputePricing@spglobal.com for this purpose.
