FUJAIRAH DATA: Oil product stocks jump 59% to five‑month high

Oil product inventories at Fujairah in the UAE rose a record 59% in the week ended Sept. 21 to a five-month high, according to Fujairah Oil Industry Zone data published Sept. 23.
The total inventory rose to 10.296 million barrels, the most since April 6. The 59% jump exceeded the previous record weekly gain of 55% just two weeks prior, according to the data compiled by Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, since 2017.
Stocks of heavy distillates used for power generation and as ship fuel soared 97% for the latest week to 5.6 million, a two-week high.
Middle distillates, such as jet fuel and diesel, increased 23% to 2.603 million barrels, the highest in six months,
Light distillate stocks, such as gasoline and naphtha, rose 39% to 2.093 million barrels, a three-month high.
The Fujairah-delivered marine fuel 0.5%S bunker premium over benchmark Singapore marine fuel 0.5%S cargo rose 16% week over week to $186.35/metric ton as of Sept. 22, as supplies are considered limited and replenishment cargoes are not seen until October, a Middle East trader told Platts.
High sulfur fuel oil supplies went up after deliveries in the past week, the trader said.
The Fujairah-delivered 380 CST HSFO bunker premium against the 380 CST 3.5%S FOB Arab Gulf fuel oil cargo assessments slipped 0.8% to $165.37/mt over the same period.
