Saudi Arabia leads region's diesel exports to Europe
Jet fuel exports from Middle East to Europe decline
Belgium top destination for naphtha
Middle East diesel exports to Europe in 2025 exceeded 500,000 b/d for the first time, with Saudi Arabia leading the way, according to the latest ship-tracking data.
Diesel shipments averaged 519,000 b/d last year compared with 497,000 b/d in 2024, according to data from S&P Global Commodities at Sea. Saudi Arabia's diesel exports averaged 311,000 b/d, nearly three times the volume of the second-largest exporter, Kuwait, which shipped 110,000 b/d, CAS data showed. France was the top destination.
In December, diesel exports from the Middle East rose to 459,000 b/d from 352,000 b/d in November, the data showed.
Jet fuel exports from the Middle East to Europe in 2025 fell to a three-year low of 284,000 b/d, with the UK remaining the top destination. Kuwait was the leading exporter of jet fuel to Europe in 2025, shipping 149,000 b/d, CAS data showed.
Exports of petrochemicals feedstock naphtha in 2025 fell to a record low of 3,500 b/d, with Belgium the top destination, compared with 4,200 b/d in 2024 and 19,400 b/d in 2023, the CAS data shows. The UAE was the region's top exporter of naphtha to Europe in 2025, followed by Kuwait and Oman, the data showed.
