Domestic cement sales drop 12% in Q1 2026

Exports rise 28% as share reaches 10%

Alternative fuel usage hits 27.4%

OYAK Cement said domestic cement sales volumes decreased by 12% year over year in the first quarter of 2026, as above-seasonal rainfall and the normalization of demand in earthquake-affected regions drove contraction across Turkey, according to a company statement May 7.

Ready-mix concrete sales volumes declined 24% year over year in the quarter, while export volumes increased 28%, with the share of exports in total sales rising from 9% to 10%.

Cement production fell 27.74% year over year in January 2026 and 11.8% in the first two months of the year, according to Turkish Cement data cited by the company. In February, domestic sales were down 12% and exports declined 13%.

OYAK Cement said it achieved limited price increases during the quarter despite adverse weather conditions and ongoing pricing pressure in the market.

The company's alternative fuel usage reached 27.4% in Q1, compared with sector average of 13% in 2025, according to its statement.

OYAK Cement commissioned a 115-MW Beypazarı solar power plant in April, which is expected to support energy cost optimization and increase the share of renewable energy in its operations.
