Owen Chen is a Senior Principal Analyst and Head of the AI and Software Research team at S&P Global Mobility. 

Owen Chen is a Senior Principal Analyst and Head of the AI and Software Research team at S&P Global Mobility. He leads the company’s global research on artificial intelligence, software-defined vehicles, and physical AI systems such as robotaxis.

Owen’s expertise spans across AI technologies, software-defined vehicle architectures, autonomous driving, and semiconductor ecosystems. He specializes in analyzing the full AI and software value chain—from semiconductors to intelligent mobility applications.

Since joining S&P Global in 2021, Owen has led research teams in China focusing on autonomous driving and semiconductor markets. In 2024, he assumed responsibility for S&P Global’s global research initiatives in AI and software-defined vehicles.

Before joining S&P Global Mobility, Owen held senior positions at Mercedes-Benz in Germany and China, where he led the project management and development of Level 3 automated driving systems.

Owen holds a Master of Engineering Management degree from Tsinghua University.
