Field will be shut for four weeks
Production is 370,000 b/d
Bab produces popular Murban crude grade
Dubai — Abu Dhabi National Oil Co, UAE's biggest energy producer, plans to shut the onshore Bab oil field for scheduled maintenance at the end of June for about four weeks, a company spokesperson said on June 29.
"The company's Bab onshore oil field will enter a planned shut-down for maintenance at the end of June. The maintenance is expected to last for approximately four weeks," the spokesperson said. "The field, which produces over 370k bopd, will be taken offline for the duration of the maintenance."
The field produces ADNOC's flagship Murban crude grade.
The UAE, OPEC's third largest oil producer, is curbing its production by an extra 100,000 b/d in June, on top of its OPEC+ commitments, joining Saudi Arabia's 1 million b/d cut and Kuwait's 80,000 b/d trim to help rebalance the market.
OPEC+ is currently implementing a 9.7 million b/d cut that has been extended into July, excluding Mexico's 100,000 b/d cut. Output curbs will be gradually eased after July through to April 2022.
