Dr. Evgueni Ivantsov

Chairman of the European Risk Management Council

Dr. Evgueni Ivantsov has a 25-year career in risk management. He currently serves as Chairman of the European Risk Management Council and writes a monthly column for The Banker/FT Group. He also serves as a member of the Advisory Board for Banking Risk & Regulation at The Banker/FT Group. Dr. Ivantsov is the author of the book “Heads or Tails: Financial Disaster, Risk Management, and Survival Strategy in the World of Extreme Risk”, and his articles are regularly featured in leading publications, including the Financial Times and The Banker. Before joining the European Risk Management Council in 2017, Dr. Ivantsov held several executive roles at global banks, including Head of Portfolio Management & Strategy at Lloyds Banking Group and Head of Global Analytics and Head of Portfolio Risk for Europe at HSBC. Additionally, Dr. Ivantsov has worked as a visiting professor at Cass Business School (now Bayes Business School, City, University of London) and as a visiting professor of International Economics at Boston University.
