Our approach to generative AI
The S&P Global Institute sees generative AI as a collaborator that can extend the skills of our authors, editors and designers. Every published piece is composed, reviewed, and approved by an Institute research fellow or lead researcher at S&P Global.
All AI-assisted content is checked for factual accuracy, bias, appropriate sourcing and consistency with our editorial standards. We recognize that AI tools can produce convincing but incorrect results, reflect biases in their training data and raise questions about intellectual property, so we remain fully accountable for everything we publish.
Where AI materially contributes to a published piece, we will disclose this alongside the work. Our efforts are guided by principles of human oversight, data privacy, ethical and responsible use, and transparency. We will update our approach as the technology, and our understanding of it, evolves.
