APPEC: Indian refiners underscore crude diversification, processing flexibility as key

 

India's influence among global crude producers is growing as its refiners increasingly process a wide range of crude grades. India has become a preferred destination for exporters seeking stable, long-term demand, especially as its oil consumption is projected to rise while declining in other major economies.

 

At S&P Global Energy’s Asia Pacific Petroleum Conference (APPEC) in Singapore, Indian refining leaders highlighted how recent geopolitical tensions and supply chain disruptions have prompted a shift in sourcing strategies, giving India leverage in the global oil trade. Arvind Kumar, director of refineries at Indian Oil, said India has reduced its reliance on traditional term contracts from the Persian Gulf region, which once accounted for 50% to 60% of crude supplies. Indian refiners are now sourcing crude from a broader range of areas, including the US, Latin America, West Africa and Russia, strengthening India's position in the global market.

Analog Devices expands AI footprint as growth accelerates

 

Analog Devices is advancing its AI strategy by acquiring Alif Semiconductor for $1.35 billion, S&P Global Market Intelligence reported. The deal, expected to close by year-end, will add Alif's AI-native microcontrollers and fusion processors to Analog Devices' portfolio of sensing, signal processing and power-management technologies, expanding applications in industrial equipment, robotics and wearables.

 

Analysts project Analog Devices’ overall revenue to grow 37% year over year to $15.1 billion in 2026, fueled by strong business-to-business demand. Its industrial revenue is forecast to rise 49% to $7.4 billion, while communications revenue is expected to surge 76% to $2.4 billion, driven by demand for power-management and optical solutions in AI data centers.
