Matheus Varanda

Matheus is a senior research analyst and specialist for the Latin America Upstream Costs and Technology team at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Matheus focuses on E&P activity, market fundamentals, materials and equipment demand, supply capacity, and cost drivers in Latin America. Previously, Matheus worked as a trainee in the financial department at Odebrecht Oil and Gas and as an upstream specialist consultant at Deloitte. He gained invaluable experience at the partnership between UN-Habitat and Rio de Janeiro's City Hall, where he led projects aimed at capturing the oil and gas industry's potential for the city.

Matheus holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with a semester at the University of Salamanca, Spain, and a specialization in the oil and gas industry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
