Principal research analyst, Cost and Technology

Kelvin Sam is a principal research analyst for the Cost and Technology team at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Kelvin has more than 15 years of cross-functional experience across several industries including finance, procurement and upstream oil and gas. Kelvin is responsible for the team's research in the floating production space which includes floating production leasing and fabrication demand including the fixed platform, FPSO (Floating Production Storage Offloading), FLNG, semisubmersible, Tension Leg Platform and spar segments. He has also completed consulting projects involving FPSO valuations, leaser entry strategy, and supplier qualification.

Prior to joining IHS Markit (now part of S&P Global), Kelvin worked as an equities research analyst in JPMorgan Singapore covering rigbuilding and FPSO contractors and as a category analyst in Shell covering the floating production systems market.

Kelvin holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Singapore Management University and is a CFA charterholder.
