Mindy McMurtry's responsibilities include projecting key crop areas and yields for S&P Global Energy Food and Agricultural Commodities Economics.

Mindy is a senior analyst within the S&P Global Energy crops group with a focus on projecting key crop areas and yields. Her primary responsibilities include maintaining and expanding the team's analytical and forecasting capabilities for the US and world crop acreage and production research and analysis. The area and production work provides monthly or semi-monthly area and production forecasts usually starting 18 months ahead of harvest.

Mindy received her bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business and her master's degree in Economics, both from South Dakota State University.
