Heike Held, Ph.D.

Heike Held is an associate director in the Inorganic and Mining Chemicals and Minerals team at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

In her role as associate director in the Inorganic and Mining Chemicals team at S&P Global Commodity Insights, Heike provides analysis of North and Latin American chemical markets including chlor-alkali derivatives and zinc chemicals and is coauthor of Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH) reports. Prior to joining IHS Markit(now part of S&P Global) in 2019, she worked as R&D chemist at Genentech, Inc. and has taught chemistry at various higher education institutions, including Mills College, Saint Mary's College of California, and the University of California, Berkeley Extension.

Heike has a diploma in chemistry from the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg, Germany and a PhD in chemistry from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland and is fluent in German.
