Hailey Ross is an insurance reporter with S&P Global Market Intelligence's Global Insurance team.
Since her arrival at S&P Global in 2018, she has produced some of the first comprehensive reports on diversity in the insurance industry and has spent several years closely tracking the industry's relationship to fossil fuels. Hailey also published a white paper for S&P Global's Horizons that detailed the numerous risks that climate change poses to the insurance industry. The research from that paper was later cited in multiple letters to the Federal Insurance Office regarding requested feedback on climate-related issues and gaps in the supervision and regulation of insurers.
Her coverage also includes a focus on regulatory developments in the insurance space with pieces ranging from longer features to spot news briefs. She writes mostly about companies in the life insurance sector, but also covers the impact of emerging topics of interest such as cannabis and insurtech as well as some property and casualty.
Hailey has also produced extensive reporting on regulator efforts to identify and prevent insurance practices that discriminate against minorities and individuals who are economically disadvantaged.
