Tinu Abraham

Research Analyst, Emission, Center of Emissions Excellence

Tinu Abraham is an emissions research analyst for the Center of Emissions Excellence at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Tinu contributes to the development and review of greenhouse gas estimation methods of refined products, gas, LNG and chemical commodities and assets. Her work is focused on developing commodity specific emission models and method frameworks that could estimate for different boundaries as well as complete life cycle GHG intensities. This work feeds into carbon accounted pricing assessments and other standalone products within S&P Global Commodity Insights. Tinu's career interests involve evaluating and improving modelling frameworks for the estimation of GHG emissions that could support future global decarbonization goals.

Tinu has worked previously on a variety of projects ranging from GHG emissions modelling to sustainable technology development in the Canadian oil sands and crude oil refinery space. These projects have resulted in several academic publications. She has also contributed to energy technology research involving various conventional and renewable energy pathways. Prior to joining S&P, Tinu estimated life cycle GHG emissions of oil sands facilities and decarbonization impacts on future refineries using open-source modelling tools. Tinu holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and a master's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. She is licensed as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
