DOWNLOAD REPORT
Access a new standardized classification system for private markets funds, assets, vehicles, fund structures and geographies, which has been created by S&P Global, Cambridge Associates and Mercer, a Marsh Business (“Mercer”), to enhance analysis, monitoring and overall transparency for investors, managers, and regulators.
Despite the dramatic growth and diversification of private markets in recent decades, the foundational approach to classification and analysis has remained largely unchanged. As total assets under management have increased, the absence of a granular taxonomy has become a critical barrier to modernization.
To address this gap, S&P Global, Cambridge Associates and Mercer have collaborated to create an evidence-led and industry-wide taxonomy to support reporting demands, regulatory requirements, and consistent investment analysis. The new classification system is one of the building blocks of the private markets performance analytics that are being developed by the three firms.
Download the complete taxonomy now to discover how we are addressing longstanding gaps in transparency, comparability, and data quality in private markets.
