Marie Lechler is an experienced economist and data scientist with a focus on economic and political analysis.
She oversees the development of new product initiatives across the economics, country risk and supply chain practice groups. By applying advanced analytics to quantify political and economic risks and trends these products help clients to identify growth opportunities and navigate uncertainty. Marie holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Munich (summa cum laude) and has studied at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), Harvard College (USA) and the University of Cambridge (UK) and visited the University of California, Berkeley (USA) as a research scholar.

Ken Wattret is the Global Economist within the Analysis and Insights team at S&P Global Market Intelligence.
Ken oversees global economic forecasting and analysis and supports a broad spectrum of corporate and financial clients. Ken has worked as an economist in the financial sector since the early 1990s including for HSBC and BNP Paribas where he was the head of market economics for the euro area. Prior to joining IHS Markit (now part of S&P Global) as Chief European Economist in 2018, Ken was a Managing Director of Global Macro at TS Lombard, an independent research provider. He is a well-known commentator in financial media.
Ken received his honors degree in economics from the University of Sheffield and holds post-graduate qualifications in finance.

Head of Latin America Country Risk
Carla Selman is the Head of Latin American country risk. She joined the company in 2014, having previously worked in political risk in London, in Chile's diplomatic missions in France, and as a journalist in Santiago, Chile. Carla holds an MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics, a master's degree in Geopolitics and International Relations from Sciences-Po Toulouse, France, and a degree in journalism from Universidad Católica de Chile. Originally from Chile, she is currently based in London.

She is responsible for economic analysis and forecasting for a suite of Emerging European economies spanning the Baltics, the Balkans, and Central Europe. Shuchita previously worked as a research analyst at The Economist Group's Economist Intelligence Unit, where she led coverage on the economy, policy, and politics of countries in South Asia. Prior to that, she worked with the CEEMEA macro-research team at Goldman Sachs' Global Investment Research division, supporting the team's coverage of Eastern Europe and the Gulf region.
Shuchita holds a Master's degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Delhi. She is fluent in English and Hindi, and speaks some Korean.
