Eurosport, Snap join forces for 2018 Winter Olympics content

Discovery Communications Inc.'s pan-European sports network Eurosport joined forces with Snap Inc. to offer original curated mobile video content of Winter Olympic Games on Snap's Discover platform in Europe.

The content and advertising deal, which excludes France for 2018, is the first multi-language deal for Snap for Olympics coverage. The content will include behind-the-scenes action from the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games' events like snowboarding and ice hockey, along with relevant content from athletes and influencers.

The content will include "Our Stories" that are curated stories consisting of Snaps submitted by Snapchat users and "Publisher Stories," which are magazine-like stories produced by media publishers. Content on "Our Stories" will consist of Olympic Games Snaps created by a team of Snapchat editors, combined with Eurosport's premium Olympic Games footage.

Earlier this year, Discovery and Snap struck a deal for Discovery to develop premium short-form mobile video content for the Discover platform.
