Vivendi SA filed a request for injunction to block the merger of Mediaset SpA and Mediaset España Comunicación SA with and into Mediaset Investment NV.
The hearing will be held Feb. 10 at the District Court of Amsterdam.
The move comes after Mediaset shareholders approved amendments to the proposed reorganization, which leads to the advancement of the Italian company's plan.
Vivendi, which holds a 29.92% stake in Mediaset, said the latter conducted an "unlawful refusal" to allow Simon Fiduciaria SpA to vote. Vivendi owns Simon Fiduciaria's 19.19% stake in Mediaset.
The French conglomerate filed lawsuits in September 2019 to counter Mediaset's plan but failed to meet an out-of-court agreement.
