Ukrainian court rejects RUSAL appeal seeking restored ownership in aluminum plant

AUkrainian appeals court rejected an application by a subsidiary of seeking tochallenge the government's decision in 2015 to seize the Russian mining group's68.01% share in the ZaporozhyeAluminum Works OJSC, the Ukrainian State Property Fund said July 21.

TheUkrainian government transferred ownership of the 68.01% share block to thestate last year,after an earlier court decision ruled that a company that bought the factory atprivatization in 2001 did not meet its obligations to pay off debt after thedeal.

Theplant has been fully shut down since 2014.

Aspokeswoman for RUSAL did not respond to emails seeking comment July 22.
