Yunnan Tin to suspend Ausmelt smelter for scheduled maintenance

Yunnan Tin Co. Ltd., the world's largest tin producer, said it will suspend refined tin production at its Ausmelt smelter in China due to scheduled maintenance starting Oct. 21, the International Tin Association reported Oct. 17.

The company expects the maintenance period to last for less than 50 days.

In September, Yunnan said its refined tin production for 2019 would likely be 10% below its undisclosed target, citing a tight supply of raw materials.
