ETP hopes to add new connections to feed 3.25-Bcf/d Rover pipeline
The company behind the massive 3.25 Bcf/d Rover Pipeline LLC project wants to add new connections to the pipeline system as it works to de-bottleneck the Appalachian shale gas region.
In two separate abbreviated applications filed June 8, Energy Transfer Partners LP asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for permission to add a new meter station and a new receipt point to the 511-mile Rover pipeline project.
Mountain Valley pipeline gets extension to cut trees in national forest
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission staff granted more time for tree cutting on the $3.7 billion Mountain Valley natural gas pipeline project within certain areas of the Jefferson National Forest in West Virginia and Virginia.
Mountain Valley Pipeline LLC asked for the extension June 8, citing delays caused by a tree sitter that occupied trees within the project's right of way. The authorization, issued June 11, allows for tree-felling work to continue between to July 31.
Expansion of TransCanada unit's New England system moves quickly at FERC
The construction-free first stage of an expansion of the Portland Natural Gas Transmission System LP pipeline system made rapid progress through the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission review process as staff declared the project would not have any effect on the environment.
Portland Natural Gas Tramission System applied for the project's first phase on April 20. It submitted an application for the second phase on May 7. The second phase would also not require construction or modifications to system facilities.

A Cheniere Energy Inc. subsidiary asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for permission to introduce gas to commission the Corpus Christi LNG export facility's first liquefaction train.
Corpus Christi Liquefaction LLC on June 7 requested that FERC staff grant the authorization before June 29 so the Texas terminal, which is under construction, can begin commercial service in 2019.
Columbia Gas can work 24/7 to meet deadline for Mountaineer XPress expansion
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission granted Columbia Gas Transmission LLC permission to extend regular construction work hours on part of its 2.7-Bcf/d Mountaineer XPress natural gas expansion project.
In its June 1 request for the construction variance, Columbia Gas had asked FERC for permission to work the extended hours to meet contractual service obligations. The company also said the extended hours would "reduce the overall length of construction and impact to the landowners."
