Qurate Retail Inc. said March 11 that the company will cease operations of its QVC television network and digital platforms in France on March 13.

Qurate Retail Group International's president said in a statement that QVC France had underperformed against financial and operational expectations.

The U.S.-based retail group said the closure of QVC France will affect 154 employees. The company received necessary regulatory approvals for the process.

QVC customers in France can continue shopping through the company's U.K. and German commerce platforms.
