Northwest Natural Holding Co. subsidiary NW Natural Water Co. LLC agreed to acquire water utility Suncadia Water Co. LLC and wastewater company Suncadia Environmental Co. LLC from their parent company, New Suncadia LLC.

The utilities, which are headquartered in Cle Elum, Wash., serve 2,800 connections at a year-round resort community in central Washington, according to an Oct. 21 news release.

In addition, NW Natural Water recently completed two previously announced deals near Coeur d'Alene, as part of the expansion of the company's operations in Idaho. The NW Natural Holding unit inked agreements to buy two more systems in the area and has also entered into an agreement to acquire its first municipally owned system, The Taylor Mountain Water and Sewer District system.

"These acquisitions are consistent with our growth strategy, and we're encouraged by the momentum we're seeing in our water business," Justin Palfreyman, NW Natural Water's president and NW Natural Holdings' vice president of strategy and business development, said in the release.

Upon the expected completion of all pending deals later this year or early 2020, NW Natural Water expects to provide water and wastewater services to about 53,000 people through 21,000 connections.

NW Natural Water also completed an acquisition of water and wastewater utility companies in Oregon in June.

NW Natural Holdings, which also owns gas subsidiary Northwest Natural Gas Co., currently provides natural gas service to roughly 2 million people.
