Alibaba to share big data

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. is set to work with five Japanese manufacturers to improve their range of personal care devices by sharing big data such as purchase histories and customer feedback, the Nikkei Asian Review reported Aug. 4.

The companies, which include Hitachi Ltd., Ya-Man Ltd. and MTG Co. Ltd., will strengthen their popular personal care product offers on Alibaba's cross-border e-commerce platform, Tmall Global, the report said.

Tmall Global General Manager Alvin Liu said the move will help the e-commerce site grow along with manufacturers, and added that all firms under the collaboration will team up against counterfeits as well, the Nikkei Asian Review said.
