Intesa Sanpaolo's board approves merger by incorporation of unit Banco di Napoli

The board of Intesa Sanpaolo SpA approved the merger by incorporation of unit Banco di Napoli SpA into the bank.

Intesa is also planning to carry out similar mergers of units Cassa di Risparmio del Friuli Venezia Giulia SpA and Cassa di Risparmio del Veneto SpA. The mergers are slated to be approved by Intesa's board, although shareholders with a stake of at least 5% can requisition an extraordinary general meeting to vote on the approval.
