Rakuten Marketing, a unit of Japanese tech company Rakuten Inc., said Aug. 9 that it appointed Stuart Simms as CEO.
Simms, who joined Rakuten Marketing in 2017, was most recently president of the subsidiary. Simms will succeed Tony Zito, who will take on a new role in the Rakuten business.
According to the release, Simms will focus on improving online advertising by committing to invest more in areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
