Regnis (Lanka) PLC said its fourth-quarter normalized net income amounted to 7.65 Sri Lankan rupees per share, an increase of 64.7% from 4.65 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 86.2 million rupees, a gain of 64.8% from 52.3 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 7.8% from 6.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 33.0% year over year to 1.11 billion rupees from 835.6 million rupees, and total operating expenses increased 30.3% from the prior-year period to 976.3 million rupees from 749.4 million rupees.
Reported net income increased 75.4% on an annual basis to 103.4 million rupees, or 9.18 rupees per share, from 58.9 million rupees, or 5.24 rupees per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 25.32 rupees per share, an increase from 11.20 rupees per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was 285.3 million rupees, a gain from 126.2 million rupees in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew 29.9% on an annual basis to 4.15 billion rupees from 3.19 billion rupees, and total operating expenses grew 24.0% year over year to 3.69 billion rupees from 2.98 billion rupees.
The company said reported net income increased year over year to 344.1 million rupees, or 30.54 rupees per share, in the full year, from 154.2 million rupees, or 13.68 rupees per share.
As of March 9, US$1 was equivalent to 144.99 Sri Lankan rupees.
