Tuni Textile Mills fiscal Q2 profit climbs 10.0% YOY

Tuni Textile Mills Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to 350,000 rupees, a rise of 10.0% from 318,130 rupees in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin rose to 0.4% from 0.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 7.8% year over year to 91.5 million rupees from 85.0 million rupees, and total operating expenses increased 8.3% from the prior-year period to 89.5 million rupees from 82.6 million rupees.

Reported net income fell 9.9% from the prior-year period to 421,000 rupees, or 0 paise per share, from 467,000 rupees.

As of Nov. 10, US$1 was equivalent to 66.24 Indian rupees.
