HSBC reorganizes management in Middle East, Africa, Turkey

HSBC Holdings Plc named Mustafa Aziz Ata head of financial institutions and public sector for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, as part of a shake-up of its global banking operations in the region, Thomson Reuters' IFR reported Aug. 10, citing a memo.

The group named Kapil Chadda vice chairman of global banking and Glen Fernandes head of financial institutions group, flow and correspondent banking for the region. Hazel Nyandoro, formerly of JPMorgan, will take over as regional head of business development, IFR said.

Ata will report to Matthew Wallace, head of the region's global banking business, and Allegra Berman, head of HSBC's FIG, Europe, Middle East and Africa region and global head of public sector. Ata had been leading the bank's regional debt capital markets business, the newswire added.

Marc Abourjeily was appointed head of debt capital markets for the Middle East and North Africa region. He will report to Wallace and Jean-Marc Mercier, global co-heads of the business.

Yigit Arslancik and Jody Sanderson were appointed co-heads of global banking for the Gulf Cooperation Council region, according to the report.
