Amgen amends, extends lease at Healthpeak's San Francisco property

Amgen Inc. entered into a lease amendment and extension at Healthpeak Properties Inc.'s Britannia Oyster Point property in South San Francisco.

The healthcare real estate investment trust said the biotechnology company already leases space across seven of the 10-building campus, which offers a total of more than 900,000 square feet of class A life sciences space.

Under the amended lease, Amgen will continue to occupy 257,000 square feet in the three buildings at 1100, 1120 and 1140 Veterans Blvd. through December 2029, extended from a prior lease expiration of December 2021, with the right to terminate 68,000 square feet in 2022 and 189,000 square feet in 2024.

The respective December 2021 and December 2023 expiration dates will remain unchanged for Amgen's 176,000-square-foot lease in the two buildings at 1130 and 1150 Veterans Blvd. and its 251,000-square-foot lease in the buildings at 331 and 333 Oyster Point Blvd.

Healthpeak said it has the right to terminate Amgen's lease for 81,250 square feet at the 1130 and 1150 Veterans Blvd. buildings in March 2021.
