Theincrease was reportedly led by strong international growth. Amazon said itexpects a record day for small businesses and sellers that use its platform.
Amazon saidJuly 5 that the total number of Prime Day deals from sellers increased acrossall Prime-eligible countries and the number of global small businesses andsellers joining the event increased over 100% year over year.
Thee-commerce giant launched Prime Day in 2015 as a shopping eventexclusively for Prime members in the U.S., U.K., Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany,France, Canada and Austria.
