The New York State Department of Financial Services is introducing a revised version of its cybersecurity rules for banks and insurers doing business in the state on Dec. 28, Reuters reports.
Following a public review period, the new deadline to comply with the rules will be pushed back from Jan. 1, 2017, to March 1, 2017, the publication noted, citing "a person familiar with the matter."
The move comes after industry representatives voiced their concerns over the rules before New York state lawmakers in a hearing Dec 19.
