Apple buys Danish startup for $30M

Apple Inc. acquired Danish startup Spektral for more than $30 million, TechCrunch.com reported Oct. 11, citing a company confirmation.

Spektral has worked on technology that is used to cut out figures from backgrounds in digital images and videos.

"Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans," the tech company said.
