May 31

Frederick Hnat will take on the role of president and CEO at Syncora Holdings Ltd., replacing Susan Comparato, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities. Hnat was previously the COO, a position that will not be filled.


Chubb Ltd. appointed John Watkins senior vice president and head of casualty claims of its North America claims organization.


Cigna Corp. named John Roble market president for Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming, and Monica Schmude market president for Delaware, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

XL Catlin, the global brand used by XL Group Ltd's insurance and reinsurance companies, opened a political risk, credit and bond insurance practice in Canada, the company's first there. The practice will be led by Marvin Azzopardi, who was appointed senior underwriter.

Sentara Healthcare tapped Becky Sawyer as senior vice president of human resources, effective May 29.
