Bio Planet Q1 profit falls YOY

Bio Planet SA said its normalized net income for the first quarter came to 7 groszy per share, a decrease of 71.3% from 23 groszy per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 179,250 zlotys, a decrease of 72.3% from 646,130 zlotys in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 0.6% from 3.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 40.1% year over year to 28.9 million zlotys from 20.7 million zlotys, and total operating expenses climbed 44.4% from the prior-year period to 28.5 million zlotys from 19.7 million zlotys.

Reported net income fell 72.4% year over year to 217,300 zlotys, or 8 groszy per share, from 787,900 zlotys, or 28 groszy per share.

As of May 13, US$1 was equivalent to 3.90 zlotys.
