First Polish ETF launched on Warsaw bourse

The first Polish exchange-traded fund made its debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange on Jan. 7.

Beta ETF WIG20TR is the first Polish ETF fully established under the country's law, with more solutions of this type set to become available in the future, according to the bourse, Giełda Papierów Wartościowych w Warszawie SA.

Fund manager AgioFunds TFI launched the ETF, which tracks the WIG20 Total Return index. Dom Maklerski BOŚ is the offeror and market maker, while Beta Securities Poland coordinated the development process.

These three firms and the Warsaw Stock Exchange signed a memorandum of understanding in November 2018 to develop new products for the Polish capital market.
