Highmark Health has appointed Saurabh Tripathi CFO and executive vice president, while Karen Hanlon will transition to the role of full-time COO and executive vice president, both effective April 22.

Tripathi will spearhead the company's efforts to develop, plan and implement a finance strategy. He will also act as the primary liaison among regulators and rating agencies, and take responsibility for the finance, real estate, tax and procurement divisions of the company. Previously, he served as senior vice president and CFO at Fresenius Medical Care in Boston.

Hanlon's role is an expanded senior leadership position to which she was appointed in July 2018. As COO, she will supervise HM Health Solutions Inc., Highmark Health Analytics, Gateway Health and the Penn State Health alliance.
