Report: Apple seeking tax concessions for manufacturing in India

Apple Inc. is seeking tax concessions from the Indian government for its plans to start manufacturing iPhones in the country, Bloomberg News reported Dec. 30, citing a source familiar with the matter.

The iPhone manufacturer reportedly wrote to the Indian industry ministry in November asking for lower manufacturing and import taxes. The company further asked for the concessions to remain in place after the Indian government applies goods and services tax, which includes all existing duties, according to the source.
